about

Two is better than one, especially when talented tenorman Ken Fowser shows up with his main man vibraphonist Behn Gillece to serve up a fresh batch of original tunes on their 2011 release "DuoTone." On this colorful session, Fowser turns up the lights and sets the scene while Gillece brings the picture into focus. Fowser and Gillece aptly demonstrate both their continued evolution as players as well as their commitment to keep pushing the envelope further as composers while extending total command of their instruments to each performance. Critical listeners will surely enjoy the amazing program of original compositions and everyone will certainly agree that "DuoTone" succeeds in establishing Ken Fowser and Behn Gillece as two important new artists to keep an eye on for many years to come. From the opening salvo to the final crescendo, "DuoTone" keeps swinging hard and is sure to delight straight ahead jazz fans everywhere.
